At the present Nick is not working on many paintings, with his current commitments to looking after his little boy. He is, however, working on his 'Sketching Blog' where he tries to add sketch a day, no matter what it is! So please have a look at that and enjoy the other images on the website.
Nick Watton was brought up in rural Cornwall. He showed early artistist talent which would eventually lead him to graduate with distinction from Falmouth College of Art and Design in 1990. Following this Nick Watton embarked on a career as a freelance illustrator working in the fields of advertising and publishing. Nick is now devoting his talent fully to his paintings. Currently Nick Watton lives and works in the friendly village of Woodbury, in East Devon. Devon, Cornwall and the sea remain his main inspiration. However, he also paints and draws as often as possible on locations from as far apart as the Isles of Scilly to the Orkney Isles. And whilst he is traveling either by sail, bicycle or on foot, his sketch book is never far away. Further inspiration is his love of traditional working boats and these dovetail together to produce some evocative images. Nicks paintings reflect the wild and romantic elements of the world around us, rich in colour and imagery.
