I was up early and headed down to the Exe Estuary. As the high tide would be pushing the wading birds to the edge of the estuary.
This little sketch shows the Oystercatchers standing in a little group waiting, with their beaks tucked along their backs, for the tide to turn. So they can once more head out in their search for cockles to eat.
