Camping on the Blackdown Hills with lots of Cub Scouts and their families and having a hot, jolly time! With even some ‘Ging Gang Gooling’ around the campfire. While the youngsters were in the pool splashing about, I strolled off along one of the enchanting wooded paths that run the edge of the hills. There are many footpaths and bridleways heading off but today I don’t have time to explore them all. I find myself in the lovely village of Blackborough, looking out across the levels to a hazy Exmoor in the distance.
This charcoal and pastel sketch was done on the way back, I liked the stark shape of the tree standing out against the sky. Which I put in with the white pastel as ‘negative space’ on the coloured paper.
