The above charcoal and pastel sketch was done on the way back, I liked the stark shape of the tree standing out against the sky. Which I ‘put in’ with the white pastel as ‘negative space’ on the coloured paper. A4

We are camping on the Blackdown Hills with lots of Cub Scouts and their families and having a hot, jolly time! With even some ‘Ging Gang Googling’ around the campfire. While the youngsters were in the pool splashing about, I strolled off along one of the enchanting wooded paths that run the edge of the hills.

There are many footpaths and bridleways heading off but today I don’t have time to explore them all. Soon I find myself in the lovely village of Blackborough, looking out across the levels to a hazy Exmoor in the distance.
