We are staying at the beautiful Cornish Cove of Portmellon. Enjoying snorkelling, kayaking and exploring. (We set off for Mevagissey to try and find all the places mentioned in Susan Cooper’s ‘Over Sea, Under Stone’ book, which changes the name of the harbour to Trewissick. Which kept us amused for some time 🙂

After weeks of sunshine, whilst we were here we had some showers and grey days. So the above sketch of Chapel Point from Colona Beach showing the grey leaden sky and indeed my sketchbook was getting wet from drizzly rain to start with.
using an A4 ‘Arboreta’ sketchbook, with watercolour washes and detail added with a black watercolour pencil.

The other quick pen sketch is of Portmellon Cove with one of the moored boats and a young lad struggling with a surfboard. (A5)
