'The Westminster Collections & Collectology Commissions'
It has been a pleasure to be working with ‘The Westminster Collection’ and ‘Collectology’, to produce for them a variety artwork for First Day Covers, Encapsulated Coins and also a Silver NumisProof. Some of the Covers are Artist Editions, but many others are First Day Covers of a very small edition of only five and each is hand painted by myself. Also just coming out is a Signed Capsule Edition of the Paddington Coins of only 250, each one is hand signed and numbered by myself.
“The beautiful art on these covers has been specially commissioned just for your new Harry Potter covers. They both feature iconic real-life scenery from the Harry Potter franchise – The Glenfinnan Viaduct and King’s Cross Railway Station – complete with the extremely sought-after First Day of Issue postmark.” The Westminster Collection website.
I am very pleased with how these two Covers have turned out and I must thank the Westminster Collection Team for commissioning me. I painted them using Oils on Paper (stretching the paper before hand.) Each Cover is an Edition of 2500 and cost £20.00 + postage for the two – a bargain! I am, again, very pleased with how my work on the Paddington Coin Editions has been reproduced. This time they asked me to illustrate them in a more ‘children’s’ style. I choose to start with a pencil drawing and then put on top of it watercolour washes.
Following the first two covers, I have since produced another piece of watercolour artwork for the Hand Signed Capsule Edition of both coins and have just finished signing all 250 of them. The original artwork has also been used on a Single Coin Capsule that also looks really nice.
