'Military 50p's '

These retrospective Military 50p’s are just out from Collectology with my artwork in the capsule (Oil on primed paper again). I had signed the first 150 of each, but they sold out in the first couple of hours.

Here’s a look at my artwork for them.

For the second VC 50p I chose to illustrate Captain Noel Chavasse, of the Royal Army Medical Corps. Who was awarded the Victoria Cross twice during the First World War. He was awarded the VC Medal the first time at the Battle of Guillemont where he was hit by shell splinters whilst rescuing men from No-Man’s Land, close to the German trenches. He carried out similar heroics in the early stages of Passchendaele, but unfortunately this time he was to die from his wounds.

A bit of gap in military history between this one and the others!
