‘Quick pen self-portrait’

I have a few minutes to spare (10 mins. to be precise), so it’s a little sketching practice in the mirror.

I start with a triangle from the eyes to the bottom of the nose. I judge the proportions by eye, based on that original triangle. With just some quick shading for the shadows. The glasses are added after I am happy with the shape of the face. Rather than thinking oo – some glasses I can get those down quickly. I think they should be a suggestion, rather than dominating the drawing. The same is true for my beard.
